Died: July 20, 1952 Rudolph M Markwart, a carpenter who did much construction work in the St. Johns area during his 50 years residence there, died Sunday at his home, 9236 N Lombard street. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 am at St. Johns Funeral home, with Rev. W. J. Ashley-Cole officiating. Burial will be in Columbia{n} cemetery. Mr. Markwart was born in the Ukraine, March 31, 1874, and came to the United States when he was seven years old, with his parents. He leaves three sons and two daughters, Walter, Alma, Edwin, H. and Calvin K. Markwart and Mrs. Hazel Carlson, all of Portland; six grandchildren, and a sister, Bertha Maxwell, in North Dakota.
